Circo
Água Viva
educates through fun, presenting environmental education
through circus arts and physical theater with at-risk
youth in Brazil.
After workshops in theater, circus and permaculture,
Circo Água Viva culminates in
a performance in a public space of the community, where
the theme of water conservation and environmental protection
is presented through a series of circus acts performed
by the children.
The participants have the opportunity to share their talents
with their community, family, and friends.They finish
the project with increased self-esteem, acquired skills,
and a deeper understanding of their environment.
OPA is raising funds to continue this project in 2005
and take it to other underprivileged communities.
